Esperanto
are an exciting Spanish Guitar/Flamenco duo featuring Mark along with guitarist
Jon Boyes.
They provide a dynamic and diverse sound, combining elements of Flamenco and
Latin guitar music,
with harmonised runs and flamboyant improvisation.
Their setlist comprises a combination of Flameno/Latin standards, some improvisation
and a few contemporary numbers
including a Spanish tinged version of Hotel California, Gypsy Kings numbers
and Rodrigo y Gabriella.
Mark: "It's such
great fun to play with Jon - we both know enough about Flamenco music to say
'hey, let's do a Farruca today' and have some fun with the playing.
I particularly like the fact that we are both rhythm and lead players so we
can alternate parts, and sometimes harmonise lines together.'
